On April 27, 2026, The second annual Megan Elizabeth Keleman Scholarship for the Six District Education Compact was awarded to a graduating senior who completed two years of the Engineering Academy.
This year’s recipient Blake Hilkert will be graduating from Tallmadge High School in May 2026 and will be attending Mount Vernon Nazarene University in the Fall. He will be majoring in Mechanical Engineering. While attending Tallmadge High School, Blake carried a 4.08 GPA, was a 3 year letterman in Baseball, was a multi-time Winter Athlete Scholar Award recipient and participated in the Youth Group at Fishcreek Church of the Nazaren. Congratulations Blake!
During this year’s award ceremony, it was announced Mr Jeff Bee is retiring. For many years Mr. Bee was the Manufacturing Processes Instructor for the Engineering Academy. He played an integral role in the renovation and technological upgrades to the Engineering Academy at Kent Roosevelt High School which make it a top notch learning facility. Mr. Bee made a positive impact on all the students he taught throughout the years. We wish him all the best on his new journey!
