It was an annual tradition for Megan and her Dad to go to the Opening Day baseball game and watch their favorite baseball team.
It began when Megan was young and her Dad would take her out of school early. It was their special time together. Whether it was the Cleveland Indians (prior to the team changing their name in 2021) or the Cleveland Guardians, they would always have fun rooting for their hometown ball club. No matter the early springtime weather in Cleveland, Ohio: rain, snow or an occasional beautiful sunny day, Megan and her Dad would always enjoy the ball game with a hot dog or two. Megan would have a plain hot dog and her Dad would have a couple hot dogs with mustard. They always enjoyed the hot dog race. Her Dad always rooted for Mustard and Megan always rooted for Onion “the one with the style.” It is something her Dad will always cherish and will never forget.
Several family members and friends contacted the Cleveland Guardians organization. They shared with them how Megan tragically lost her life and how she was a huge fan of Cleveland baseball. The Cleveland Guardians made arrangements with Matthew for the Keleman family to enjoy a suite with family and friends for the 2025 Home Opener. It was a great way for everyone to honor and remember Megan. Thanks to the entire office staff of the Cleveland Guardians for making it a special day. Thanks to the Cleveland Guardians baseball team for bringing home a win. But most of all, thanks to Matthew for this special surprise for his Dad and for us to continue the Opening Day tradition for Megan!
