On Monday, October 27, 2025, Megan’s Way Out was unanimously approved by the Cuyahoga Falls City Council with a vote of 11-0. Megan’s Way Out was part of a number of other zoning ordinances included in a larger proposal.
We are grateful for our neighboring community, the City of Cuyahoga Falls, to join the City of Stow in adopting Megan’s Way Out. It is overwhelming to see the support of Megan’s Way Out in other communities. We are hopeful more communities will consider adding this to their building ordinances. Also, we would like to see the business community offer support and make updates to their building designs by implementing a two lane drive thru design.
A two lane drive thru or a drive thru with a bypass lane allows everyone the ability to exit a drive-thru no matter the circumstances. Ambulances will have access to a vehicle and EMS workers will have the ability to quickly administer life-saving procedures to a driver or passenger.
Our goal is to save lives and prevent another tragic event from happening in a drive-thru. As other communities are willing to adopt Megan’s Way Out, we will continue to work with state politicians to make Megan’s Way Out a state law. Please continue to contact your state representative and your state senator asking them to support Megan’s Way Out and make it a state law.
Thank you to Mayor Walters, Diana Colavecchio, Susan Spinner, Rob Kurtz, Russ Balthis, all the council members, everyone at the City of Cuyahoga Falls and the entire community. Also, thanks to State Senator Casey Weinstein for his continuous support and effort to make Megan’s Way Out a state law.
This is another step on a long journey. We truly appreciate everyone’s support!
